Student Success: From Navy Firefighter to IT Technician
During his years serving aboard the USS New York in Mayport, Florida as a fire controlman in the U.S. Navy, Jake Sieckman developed a passion for computers. His duties there had him working with missile defense, radar, and tactical defense systems. The next logical step was to quickly transition that experience and passion into a full-time civilian career, which led Sieckman to ACI Learning for his training.
Computer User Support Specialist Program
To make his career aspirations a reality, Jake enrolled in ACI Learning’s 10-week Computer User Support Specialist Program, which trains students for four of the most popular foundational IT certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and ITIL. This training positions graduates to start a career in IT and places them on a trajectory to grow their careers in the direction of their choice: IT support management, networking, or cybersecurity.
“Certifications are imperative to a resume because if you don’t have them, you will be screened out over other more qualified candidates,” he said.

They will help you perfect your resume, optimize your LinkedIn profile, and understand all the ins-and-outs of IT or cybersecurity job hunting and interviewing. Jake especially appreciated the resume writing guidance and the constant communication, with several opportunities per week arriving in his inbox.
