(Music) Welcome into Network
Fundamentals. I'm your host,
Lauren Deal, and join with me
is Anthony Sequeira. How are you
doing? I'm doing great, Lauren.
Great to be here with you.
I'm excited to have you join us
and you as well, because we're
going to be covering quite a
bit. But Anthony, before we
jump in, let's talk about who
you are and a little bit of
history with you.
Sure. My name is Anthony
Sequera, and I'm one of the
full-time edutainers here at
ACI Learning. It's been on and
off since 2019, but again, now
full-time with ACI and I'm
thrilled. I am really excited
to be teaching networking
topics for ACI because that was
my first specialty. Lauren,
that started back in 1996.
I guess I'm dating myself there
a bit. For over 25 years, my
specialty has really been
networking. It's so exciting to
be bringing network
fundamentals to our students in
this module.
Well, you are an incredible
instructor. I can't wait to be
learning from you. We're going
to be covering quite a bit in
this module, in this course, so
cover some of the high-level
things we're going to talk
about.
Yeah. We're going to begin
with a review of the OSI model.
I'm going to try and make it so
that our students watching this
don't despise the OSI model.
It is one of these things that
students just grown and will
roll their eyes when they hear
it mentioned, but we're going
to make sure that you fully
understand it. That goes for a
lot of the topics in our
network fundamentals module,
like TCPIP subnetting. That's
another one that students will
just be filled with fear and
anxiety about. We're going to
take those subjects that often
strike fear into the hearts of
students, and we're going to
make sure you love them.
And there's really nothing
scary about them at all.
It's going to be a great
journey through some of those
topics. We'll also look at
physical things that you can
actually touch and work with,
like what are routers and what
are switches and what are
firewalls? And we'll talk about
the various cables that connect
all this stuff together, and
we'll even discuss wireless
fundamentals here in this
module. So it's going to be a
big one
that is action packed.
I'm excited because I'll be
learning right along with you,
asking all the questions that
you may have at home. And I'm
sure Anthony is going to use me
as an in-class student. So
give me some grace because I
definitely will be learning.
So Anthony, who would be the
ideal person to watch this
course with us? Yeah, the ideal
person is any individual
that, you know, maybe they
have their CompTIA A plus
certification or equivalent
knowledge, and they want to
take it to the next level when
it comes to networking. Sure,
in the CompTIA A plus world,
networking is covered, but
really, really shallow
coverage. So we're going to
build upon that and go much
deeper. So I really would
recommend this training to
anyone interested in taking
their networking knowledge to
that next level.
Well, I'm excited, Anthony,
and I'm sure you are, too.
Remember that you can follow
along with the notes. And I
think it's time that we get
started. So why don't you click
next and we'll see you in the
first episode.
