Overview
This course prepares students to understand major networking technologies and systems of modern networks and be able to configure, manage, and troubleshoot networks. Lessons cover computer networking fundamentals such as defining a network, working with different types of cables and wireless media, different ports and protocols, defining and working with IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and design, different cabled and wireless network topologies and when to use them, troubleshooting methodology, tools, and networks, disaster response and business continuity, proper documentation, security concepts, cryptography, cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and routing and switching technologies. These are the fundamental skills and concepts that you will need to use on the job in any type of networking career. Throughout the course, you will be able to apply skills learned through a variety of physical and virtual labs, test yourself with quizzes, and be able to review content through the use of videos on each topic. Upon completion of all course materials and self-study, you will be prepared for the CompTIA Network+ examination (Exam N10-008).
