AWS Cloud Specialized Services

WEBVTT Welcome everyone to this module entitled AWS Specialized Services. My name is Anthony Sequera. You might have seen me in our catalog. I'm one of the full-time edutainers here at ACI Learning, and I am so thrilled we have a very special guest in to lead us through this module. It's Jill West. Jill, tell us a bit about yourself. Anthony, I have so enjoyed getting to work with you this week and get to know you better. My name is Jill West. I'm an instructor at a technical college in Northwest Georgia. I'm also a full-time author for Cengage, so I write a lot of the textbooks for the CompTIA exams, one of which is the CompTIA Cloud Plus certification. Definitely check that one out if you're looking into becoming more of a Cloud expert. I do the teaching, I do the writing, and then I've also got four kids at home. I have been leafing through that Cloud Plus text, and I cannot wait to pick up my copy. I encourage you do the same. So Jill, in this module, we're going to be looking at just specialized services, and this means we're going to be covering some of the hottest buzzwords in the industry, aren't we? Right. A lot of buzzwords for this particular section with these services. So we're hitting on artificial intelligence, AI, ML, machine learning, data analytics, which is really a booming area in IT right now. We'll be looking at automation, infrastructure as code, and a lot of others as well. So if you've heard these terms tossed around in podcasts, or in blogs, or conferences, this is your chance to see how these services and technologies work in AWS and how they can benefit your organization. One of the many things that you're going to see Jill doing in these episodes that I so love is giving us a breakdown of what that technology even is. I confess to Jill that with like business analytics and things of that nature, I have very little experience with that, and I needed reminders of what even some of this technology does before we dive into services. Another thing I think you're going to love about this and other modules like it, is both Jill and I have taken this exam that we are preparing you for, and there's a lot of services that might pop up that AWS didn't specifically call out. There are, there is a really long list of services at the end of the objectives document to tell you which services are in scope. But Anthony and I both were comparing notes after we took this exam and finding, you know what, there are a lot of services not listed on the objectives that we had to know in order to answer these questions competently. So we've been exchanging notes and making sure we're covering all of the services that we saw on the exam, not just the services that are listed in the objectives. Well, I am super excited to get started. I hope you are as well, and we've got lots of great content in this module. So let's go ahead and get started.
