You're watching IT Pro TV [MUSIC] Welcome to the CompTIA A+ Core 2 series. That's right we are preparing for the 220-1102 exam together and I'll be your host throughout the entire series here. My name is Ronnie Wong and I've got the pleasure to actually introduce to you. Well Mr Wes Bryan who's gonna be our subject matter experts. Now Wes tell us a little bit about yourself before we get started. Sure absolutely. I'm excited to be a part of the A+ because I've been teaching the CompTIA A+ for a better, a little bit better than a decade now and some of the other courses as well and much like you all out there, I was a career changer and I actually came from the fast food industry and decided I wanted to get into IT. So A+ is where I made my first step as well. All right so Wes, somebody that's actually watching this may be asking well what am I actually gonna get out of this course? Well sure you know that the main driver behind this course, Ronnie is going to be to take that second a plus exam so that you can get a plus certified. But however keep in mind that some of the tech, the concepts that we teach are also applicable if you already are in help desk and maybe you want to take your career a little bit farther but keep in mind that what we're going for here is certification and your successful pass of that certification. Now speaking of that. Right. The idea of the goal. Tell us a little bit more about the core structure Then. Sure. So the 2 2011 02 exam, it's it is divided into four domains and those domains or what we're gonna be using in the objectives that you can download from camp to are what we're gonna be using as a checklist as we go through the various topics and concepts and present them to you. I'll also let you know too that we have a variety of learner notes that might not be completely detailed in some aspects but what they allow you to do is to have some insight of the concepts that you're gonna be learning about from episode to episode. And what I would encourage you to do is download exam objectives as well as downloading the show notes that what you can do is you can use those as the concepts as a checklist that you can study in order to get prepared for the certification exam. Now, along with that of course that certification exam is actually gonna be very important. Can you help us out with some of the details of that? Sure, Ronnie and one of the best places to go is right to the committee website and if you viewers out there watching are going for any comp to exam, I encourage you to do the same thing and get familiar with this website specifically for the a plus to 2011 +02 exam, I've got their website pulled up. You can get information on the first exam as well as the second exam. And if you want to get some exam details, you can also always scroll all the way down or just click this button here and it'll scroll down for you and you can see that it gives you what the exam codes are. It will also let you know what high level of what some of the topics will be on that exam too. So we can see the eight plus 2, 2011 02 covers operating systems, security, software and operational procedure is gonna be really software focused in the second one versus the first one which is hardware. However, both of those exams are structured almost identically in the fact that they're both gonna be 90 minute exams as well as having about 90 questions pour per exam. Keep in mind that this is a maximum you might have less But you won't have any more than 90 questions and 90 minutes on that exam. Keep in mind that the passing score for this one is going to be 700 committee is a scale is a 0-900 and you need a 700 to pass this exam. I do want you to keep in mind though for our viewers out there. Keep in mind that you have to take both exams passed both exams including the second one here to become a plus certified, you can see what some of the recommended experiences. 9 to 12 months recommended experience. Keep in mind you don't have to have that experience. But if you don't have that experience, you're probably gonna have to do a little bit more study and we would encourage you to do that so that you can backfill some of that information that that knowledge if you will last but not least, you can see that testing provider is Pearson View. You can click these links and you can go over to Compton's website giving you the step by steps in which you can register and take this exam. Keep in mind that you can also take this not only in a brick and mortar in house testing center, you can also do this through Pearson Views on view and do this in a remote location, basically just taking it online and the price for us. We're here talking about us dollars here, just adjust it to whatever your local currency is. But for us it's going to be us dollars. It's gonna be $239. So there you go, running a little bit about the exam. Alright, so what is it about this course that makes you excited? You know, Ronnie? I think it's because I've been waiting patiently for some new objectives to come out and we know that the computing industry changes quite rapidly and what I'm, what I really like is that we're gonna see some newer technologies in here that really reflect where the industry is currently at this point in time. So I'm excited to be able to teach you all that excited to have you view this course with us and continue this journey with us as well. Alright, well that's a lot of great information as we get started with this particular show. And the great thing is your only one quick way. So make sure you go ahead and do that. Thank you for watching I T pro t V.
