Hello and thank you for joining us for
ITIL Direct plan and improve.
I am Zach and this is Jo and
we're so happy to have you here,
before we go into what
we're doing here and
why you should be watching this particular
course, Jo, tell us all about you.
Me, I don't like talking about me.
I guess that I am here simply because
I have got a lot of years experience
in IT governance that spans sort
of project management, agile,
risk management, service management,
I've been involved with IT right,
the way back from title version
two sort of examiner and
just all around generally
deep in the heart of it.
So that's exactly why I'm here.
What about you?
Well, I'm here because you said,
Zach you better be.
No, Jo and I have done a lot of courses
together, a lot of vital courses,
a lot of governance classes and
courses rather.
And, this is one of them.
ITIL DPIR.
I direct plan and improve and Jo I want to
ask you about this, why is it exciting or
why would someone want to watch
ITIL Direct Plan and Improve?
Generally because you want to
gain an accreditation in that.
And usually it's because you're on one of
two tracks and I've got a graphic here for
you, and those those tracks are either
the managing professional track which
is on the left hand side or the Strategic
Leader track here and you'll notice
that Direct Plan and Improve sits here and
it actually appears in two tracks.
That doesn't mean that it's
two different courses.
It's not, it's one course and
that one course is an intermediate
that qualifies you to take either and
the managing professional or
and the Strategic Leader.
So if you want to do either one or
both of those then you only
need to take this exam once.
So if you wanted to attain your management
professional and then move on to
Strategic Leader, which is the way that
a lot of people take these ITIL exams,
then you only need to take
this particular exam once.
There is a prerequisite, which is why I
know that you've seen this diagram before
and that prerequisite is that you have to
have passed the ITIL Foundation in order
to be able to take the exam.
It doesn't mean that you can't watch this
course until you've taken your Foundation.
You can but
you cannot take your test through people.
So until you've successfully been
through your ITIL Foundation test,
so that's where we are, we're going to
be looking at Direct Plan and Improve.
This is very much you've seen,
it's a strategist role.
This is very much directed
at the leadership.
This is about directing teams, about
directing projects and pieces of work.
It's about planning those pieces
of work at those projects.
Planning to deliver value,
planning to create a new service and
improving our services and
our service offering.
So we're looking at directing,
planning and improving on our teams.
And we're gonna be looking at the
certificate details in the next episode,
aren't we?
Yes we will.
We'll be looking at
the exam as we always do.
We look at the exam in a lot
more detail in our next episode.
That's wonderful.
Well this is exciting.
Are you excited?
I am, yeah.
[LAUGH] Well thank you for joining
us for ITIL Direct Plan and Improve.
Make sure you watch every episode and
we'll see you in the next episode.
Thank you for watching IT Pro tv.
