WEBVTT Welcome and thanks for joining us for this overview for the module Managing and Implementing Windows Server Recovery. I'll be your host for this module. My name is Sophie Goodwin. I'm an edutainer here at ACI Learning, and I'll be asking some questions along the way to help us through this material. This is all new to me, so I'll be learning right along with you and acting as an advocate, asking questions you might have at home. But of course, to my right is Charles Pluta. He's going to be our subject matter expert, teaching us this course. Charles, how are you today? Yeah, I'm good. Thanks, Sophia. Hey, everyone. My name is Charles Pluta. I'm a Microsoft Certified Trainer. Happy to talk to you in this module around just the backup and recovery process of Windows servers, regardless if that's maybe on-premises, if it's in Azure, you've got some hybrid scenarios. So we'll be going through talking about how to use just the built-in Windows Server backup product. If you are in Azure, we'll talk about backup with Azure Recovery Services vaults. We'll talk about some disaster recovery across regions using that same recovery services vault, and just kind of making our overall solution, having a backup solution and having a disaster recovery solution. You've got a decent amount of experience training this kind of stuff. What's kind of your background? Yeah, so my background is more infrastructure and security. I've been in the IT field for about 15 years now, and I've been a Microsoft Certified Trainer for about 10 years of that. We are in good hands, folks. So before we jump into some of this new material and get into the episodes, is there anything that learners should kind of bring to the table, come into this module already knowing? Yeah, so we do have a mix of both kind of on-prem Windows Server as well as some Azure things that we're going to be using in this module. And so you should already have just a foundational level knowledge of both of those. So being able to just log into a Windows Server, manage that, understand the Server Manager, some of the foundational aspects of that. And the same goes for the Azure Cloud. So understanding subscriptions, resource groups, deploying resources, permissions and things like that. We'll kind of assume that you know that. And then we're going to start in this module just jumping into a recovery service as well. Well, prepare yourself. I hope you're ready because we're about to learn about Windows Server recovery. Thanks for giving us kind of a heads up as to what we can expect, Charles. And thank you for joining us for this overview. We'll see you in the course.
