WEBVTT
Welcome and thanks for
joining us for this overview
for Endpoint Administrator.
I'm Sophie Goodwin, I'm an
edutainer here and alongside
myself, I've got Wes Bryan.
Wes is going to be walking you
through this course, teaching
you everything you need to
know. Wes, tell us a little
about yourself. Sure, I've been
a technical instructor for the,
man, it's almost going on 15
years now. So I've been
teaching industry leading
certifications from things like
CompTIA, from Microsoft,
Microsoft Certified Trainer,
and I hold a variety of
industry certifications too.
I'm looking forward to teaching
you some of the products and
some of the techniques that we
can implement to really just to
administer to our endpoints
today in a more modern
approach. So Wes will be our
subject matter expert for this
course, and I'm curious Wes,
learners that are approaching
this course looking to
learn, what should they
bring to the table? What should
they come in already knowing?
Hey, that's a great question.
So what you need to have is a
good strong foundation of a
Windows environment. You need
to have a good foundation
around mobile devices, such as
things like iOS, Android,
Windows Mobile is in there, but
it's not as popular as
obviously iOS and Android.
So have a good foundation in
that. You need to have a
foundation too in TCP IP
networking, because there is
going to be some assumed
knowledge. When we teach about
things like servers or we teach
about an endpoint. You should
know what that verbiage is.
So you should also have a good
strong foundation inside of
Windows Active Directory
environments that's going to be
important. But past that, if
you know your way around
Windows environments and the
iOS and Android environments,
we can help you with the rest.
But those are some of the
skills that you should bring to
the table when you tackle this
course.
So I know you already
mentioned what we're going to
be getting into. Are you able
to give us a brief overview as
to what this course is going to
get into, what it's going to
look like?
Sure. So this course is for
those that are going to be
deploying and managing Windows
clients, but not only Windows
clients. Remember, we also have
mobile devices too. So we're
going to be not necessarily
maybe deploying their operating
systems, but definitely
configuring them and
controlling them. So we'll be
looking at deploying and
managing Windows clients.
We're going to be looking at
managing identities, because
identity is a big thing inside
of our modern enterprise
networks today. We'll also look
at managing and monitoring
compliance. Using the Microsoft
Intune MDM solution. And that
kind of leads itself into
another topic that we'll be
tackling. And that is how to
deploy Microsoft Intune for a
mobile device management
solution. You probably have
heard the term MDM solution.
Well, we're going to show you
how to implement Microsoft
Intune as an MDM solution,
as well as what's known as a
MAM. That's right, a mobile
application management solution
too. So we'll look at deploying
modern apps, cloud-based apps,
as well as Office products here
too. So we'll look at managing
applications all through the
Microsoft Intune and Microsoft
365 Admin Center. Microsoft
Entra ID is going to make its
way in there, formally known as
the Azure AD infrastructure.
It's been rebranded. We're
going to see all of that inside
of this course.
Okay, so definitely plenty
to learn. And if you're not
familiar with our format, it'll
be Wes as our subject matter
expert walking you through this
material. You'll see myself and
a few of the other edutainers
in the host role. That means
we're going to function as kind
of a learner advocate for you,
asking questions along the way
that you might have at home.
But as far as this overview
goes, I think we're pretty much
wrapped up, right? Absolutely,
grab your popcorn, grab your
notes, and join us for more of
that endpoint administration.
All right, well thank you so
much Wes, and thank you for
joining us. We'll see you in
the course.
