Monitor and Troubleshoot Windows Server

WEBVTT Welcome and thanks for joining us for this overview. This is for the module Monitor and Troubleshoot Windows Server. I'll be your host for this course. My name is Sophie Goodwin. I am an edutainer here at ACI Learning. I'll be functioning as a learner advocate and asking questions along the way that you might have at home. I don't have a ton of experience in this area, so I'm going to be learning right along with you as you are. Of course, we've got Charles Pluto here. He's going to be our subject matter expert for this course. Charles, tell us a little about yourself. Yeah, thanks Sophie. Hey everyone. My name is Charles Pluto. I've got a background in infrastructure and security. I've been working in the IT field for about 15 years now. I've been a Microsoft Certified Trainer for about 10 years of that. I'm so happy to talk to you today about all the different monitoring and troubleshooting that we can do across Windows Server, whether it be in an on-prem environment, maybe it's a hybrid environment. We've got different connection methods, different troubleshooting ways that we can look at Active Directory and some of the Windows Server services. I know we have got a couple episodes on, or quite a few episodes on troubleshooting like VM and connection issues there. So is there anything else that we need to know going in that we're going to be focusing on? Yeah. Some assumed knowledge would probably be just some Windows Server basics. You should be familiar with how to use the command line, how to get into the Windows Server. We're not going to cover any of the basics there. Then same would be true on the Azure side. I'll assume that you know what an Active Directory tenant is or now IntraID. That you know what a subscription is, resource groups, the basics of getting something up and running in Azure. So if you're not familiar with those concepts, maybe run out and get yourself familiar with those before jumping into this course, or you can try to learn it while we're going through this stuff, just might create a little bit of extra work for you. But like I said, I'm going to be learning right along with you, and now we have an idea of what we're going to be getting into in this course and how we can prepare.
